Skin Cancer Clinic Castle Hill

Your trusted partner in skin health and cancer prevention

At Health Zone Barwell Medical Centre, we are proud to offer a dedicated Skin Cancer Clinic led by Dr Prakash Bandgar. With a strong focus on the early detection, diagnosis, and treatment of skin cancer, our clinic provides comprehensive care in a professional and welcoming environment.

Australia has one of the highest rates of skin cancer in the world, making regular skin checks a vital part of your healthcare routine. Our goal is to identify any potential skin cancers at the earliest stage, when treatment is most effective. Whether you’re coming in for a routine full body skin check or have noticed a new or changing mole or lesion, our clinic is equipped to help.

Skin cancer can develop anywhere on the body — not just areas exposed to the sun. That’s why a thorough, head-to-toe examination by an experienced professional is so important. At our Skin Cancer Clinic in Castle Hill, we take the time to assess your skin, address any concerns, and provide advice on prevention and sun safety.

In addition to diagnosing and treating skin cancers, we also perform minor procedures including skin biopsies, lesion removals, cryotherapy (freezing), and the treatment of warts and skin tags. If any treatment is required, it can often be done conveniently on-site with minimal downtime.

Our clinic welcomes patients from Castle Hill and surrounding suburbs in The Hills District. We aim to make skin health care accessible, effective, and personal.

FAQs on Skin Clinic Services

What is a skin cancer check?

A skin cancer check is a full-body examination performed by a qualified doctor to identify any suspicious moles, spots, or lesions that could indicate skin cancer. At our Skin Cancer Clinic in Castle Hill, Dr Prakash Bandgar uses advanced techniques to thoroughly inspect your skin and identify early signs of skin cancer

How often should I get a skin check?

It is generally recommended to have a skin check once a year, especially if you have fair skin, a history of sunburn, or a family or personal history of skin cancer. However, people at higher risk may require more frequent checks. Dr Bandgar will advise you based on your risk profile.

What are the signs of skin cancer I should look for?

You should monitor your skin for any:

  • New or changing moles

  • Sores that don’t heal

  • Spots that bleed or become itchy

  • Changes in the size, shape, or colour of existing moles

If you notice any of these signs, book an appointment with our skin cancer clinic in Castle Hill as soon as possible.

Does a skin check hurt?

No, a skin check is a non-invasive and painless procedure. It involves a visual inspection of your skin, often using a dermatoscope to examine lesions more closely. If a biopsy is needed, it may involve a small local anaesthetic.

Can I have spots or lesions removed at the clinic?

Yes. Our clinic offers in-house removal of skin cancers, skin tags, warts, and suspicious lesions. We use various techniques, including cryotherapy (freezing) and minor surgical procedures, depending on the nature of the lesion.

Do I need a referral to visit the skin cancer clinic?

No referral is necessary. You can book directly through our Reception or Online from the website

Is the skin cancer check covered by Medicare?

Standard skin checks are often partially or fully covered by Medicare, depending on the procedure. For removals or biopsies, there may be a gap fee. Our staff can provide more details at the time of booking
